Fuel • Always know how much fuel is in your tank • Never let it get under ¼ tank, this burns out the fuel pump • Always look for the best gas prices • Never put fuel in your tank at a gas station that has just had tanks refilled by semis, this stirs up the dirt and can clog your engine
Oil • Change your oil and oil filter every 3000 miles • If you don’t know how to change your oil, click here • Use a top brand oil, a little more money goes a long way • Check your oil every time you refill your gas tank • Check to ensure there are no oil stains in your driveway
Tires • Rotate and balance your tires every 6,000-8,000 miles, or every other oil change • Check the tread to ensure good grip on the road • Buy tires that suit to your regions’ weather • Always get the warranty, it’s inexpensive and it will save you a lot of money in the long run • Warranty- $5-$10 or sometimes free, To replace/repair 1 tire- $30-100
Cleaning • Wash your vehicle at least once every other week • Wash it at least once a week if there is salt on the roads after snow or ice • Vacuum and wipe down the interior once a month • Keeping your vehicle clean will help to prevent rust, chipping, and increase overall value
