  3. Why Are Your Kids Here • No one “signs up” for Speech and Debate or Journalism. • Students are hand-selected based on academic capabilities. • If they take one, they’ll likely take the other. • Another one may be added.

Speech and Debate • Speech and Debate is the study and practice of forensics, the art of public speaking and debating. • This class is a hybrid of speaking, writing, reading, and performing. • The skills gained from this class will benefit your student in every aspect of their academic and professional lives. • Currently: Original Oratories

  5. Journalism • Journalism is the study and practice of news writing and reporting. • This class publishes an online newspaper at thejmrcharger.com. • This is a writing intensive course for self-motivated students. • Currently: First articles.
