In general, most comedies create everyday environments, and therefore the mise-en-scene is not unusual to the items seen in most people’s lives. Setting Christmas is also a common time of year used as the extent for romance, and hilarity from the festive conventions make the story lines both heart warming, and ‘jolly’. The characters are normally everyday people, with over exaggerated quirks. This can be seen in the film Superbad from the Geeky characteristics of the main characters.
