  2. What is the JSAC/YACN JSAC: The Japan Society for Analytical Chemistry YACN: The Young Analytical Chemist Network

  3. The ASAN/YACN is organized to realize a smooth exchange of academic and social information among young analytical chemists, by succeeding activity of the 21stCentury Committee. Organizing committee of the YACN consist of at least seven representatives from each of the youth communities of seven regional branches of JSAC, and one chairman of the network. The organizing committee just starts working now. The YACN will be open to all the young peoples who are studying or working in the field of analytical chemistry, not only in Japan but also in foreign countries.

A brief history about the JSAC/YASN 1991 A 21st Century Fund (Fund for Young Analytical Scientists) had been raised by JSAC for activating young analytical scientists as a time-limited fund during the 20th century. 1992 A committee named 21stCentury Committee had been organized for planning and steering the 21st Century Fund. The 21stCentury Committee had been active in a) organizing academic sessions in JSAC annual meetings and forums under the joint sponsorship of the executive committees, b) organizing academic sessions as pre-conferences of the JSAC annual meetings and forums,

  6. c) organizing academic sessions as pre-conferences of the JSAC annual meetings and forums or a summer seminar, for discussing a variety of problems concerning analytical sciences, d) supporting to organize committees of young analytical chemists of the JSAC regional branches, e) making networks of young analytical chemists of JSAC such as preparing mailing lists and a homepage, f) co-editing the special issue entitled for Young Generation in Analytical Sciences on ANALYTICAL SCIENCES, volume 17 (2001) January, and so on. The 21stCentury Committee had been supported by much of voluntarily works by young analytical scientists of JSAC.

  7. Feb. 28, 2001 The 21st Century Fund and the 21stCentury Committee had been dissolved. March 1, 2001 The WAKATE-KIKIN (Fund for Young Analytical Scientist Network) is newly raised by JSAC. The Young Analytical Chemist Network (YACN) is being organized for young analytical chemists.   8. The JSAC/YACN are cooperating to the Session for Young Scientists in the AISANALYSI VI, and will be cooperating to the International Poster Session in the 50th JSAC annual meeting, and the other academic sessions of JSAC in future.
