There should be 3 blank spaces in between the figure and the content of the dissertation/thesis above the figure. {Space 1} {Space 2} {Space 3} There should be 3 blank spaces in between the figure and the content of the dissertation/thesis below the figure. {Space 1} {Space 2} {Space 3}

  5. Spacing between the Body and the Figures and Tables. A large amount of space at the bottom of a page of text, when it precedes a page with a Table or Figure, is acceptable. Sometimes it is impossible to fit appropriate Tables/Figures on the page with the text.
