The Standards Verification UK’s (SVUK) Quality Mark service • Gives you the opportunity to have your bespoke qualifications, CPD programmes or learning resources, standards verified against professional or national occupational standards and units of assessment owned by Lifelong Learning UK • Is a robust yet flexible process
Verified against LLUK’s Professional or National Occupational Standards • Professional standards for teachers, tutors and trainers in the lifelong learning sector (England, Wales, Northern Ireland) • Learning Delivery National Occupational Standards (NOS) • Other NOS and standards within LLUK’s footprint, e.g. • Community learning and development • Career guidance • Work-based learning
Verified against LLUK’s units of assessment for qualifications • Preparing to teach in the lifelong learning sector (PTLLS) • Certificate to teach in the lifelong learning sector (CTLLS) • Diploma to teach in the lifelong learning sector (DTLLS) • Optional units of assessment for both the Certificate and Diploma qualifications
The Standards Verified Quality Mark provides organisations with the knowledge and confidence that: • your scheme or resources have been recognised by a reputable national organisation; • your qualification, CPD programme or learning resource meets national standards; • you have systems and processes in place to quality assure your product; • your scheme has credibility within the lifelong learning sector.
The Standards Verified Quality Mark enables… • The contextualisation of training qualifications (e.g. PTLLS and CTLLS) specifically for their workforce • The contextualisation of professional and national occupational standards • The mobility of the workforce towards professional standing, e.g. professional formation with the Institute for Learning
The Standards Verified Quality Mark enables… • Your programme or resources to be placed on the Quality Mark Register when your application is successful • The use of the Quality Mark branding on relevant information, publicity, etc. once you have been awarded
The Quality Mark and professional formation with IfL • The Institute for Learning (IfL) will accept Quality Marked qualifications as part of an individual’s professional formation that are verified against and mapped to: • the PTLLS, CTLLS and DTLLS mandatory units of assessment • the Professional Standards for Teachers, Tutors and Trainers in the Lifelong Learning Sector, in terms of progress towards being qualified
So how do you get the Standards Verified Quality Mark? • To express interest, contact Mary Corbally, Standards Verification Manager (marycorbally@svuk.eu) • Mary will arrange a meeting to discuss your requirements and to advise the best course of action • What type of application • What to Standards Verify • What to map to, etc. • When agreed, you will be: • Sent a quote for the work • Sent an application form • Allocated a lead reviewer
So how do you get the Standards Verified Quality Mark? • Your lead reviewer will: • Advise and assist you in completing the application form • Review your completed application when submitted • Map your product to the appropriate standards and/or qualifications • Produce a report to the Quality Mark Panel • A Quality Mark Panel will take place to discuss your application and to agree the award • You will be awarded a Certificate that will state to which standards and/or qualifications your product is mapped to and verified against.
