  3. HPSS Load and Usage Statistics • 100TB stored in 9 million files • Average file size: 11MB • ~ 16,000 transactions per day • ~ 250-300GB moved per day • 650GB peak amount of data moved

  4. System Backups • Individual node backups • SFS Backups • Critical! • More than enough disk allocated to transactions • Imported into alternate HPSS system • validate backup sets • perform analysis

  5. Observations • “Tiny” class of service (files < 8k) • Initial drag-testing - SSA and 3590 • HPGN to become central networking focus • STK 9840 drives • Web page for procedures • http://www.sdsc.edu/Storage • focus for operational details
