Things to improve cont… • Answering the question • Do a question attack in your head: •  “R.U.F. are fighting for the people!” No one does anything for anyone in the film Blood Diamond without wanting something in return. Do you agree? • Eg: What do the characters want? • Do they always get something in return? • What are their motives? Are they always selfish? • Who is concerned about the bigger picture and who is concerned only about themselves?

  5. Confusions…. • You can’t pluck a quote without knowing it’s context. Many said • There are millions of people in Africa, why should I help just one? • In reference to Maddy’s attitude. What you missed: “I can't believe I just said that.” What does this say about her?

  9. BIG IDEAS • Complete a mindmap fort the following ideas, these words should appear in your topic sentences, introductions and conclusions • Greed • Selfishness • Poverty • Corruption • Hope • Freedom • Humanitarianism

  10. Practice question • The best thing you can do is have another go at writing a practice question. This is only an hour of your time. • Or, write a plan for the question. Write your contention and topic sentences. Do you have evidence to support the ideas?
