  2. A Vertex drawing is a graph of a finite set of points, called vertices, and lines called edges(or line segments), that join pairs of vertices.. A Vertex (node) is a point in a plane. An Edge (arc) is a line segment whose end points are vertices in a graph. The Valence is the number of edges ending at an end point. Adjacency says if 2 vertices are the endpoints of the same edge. The vertices are adjacent.

  3. Map Coloring A “Coloring of a map” involves assigning colors to the countries of a map so that countries with a common border are assigned different colors.
