  6. Bahraini Pottery is a tradition from 3,000 years ago and has been made since the Dilmun times • The pottery craft was revived in the 1990’s after samples were found in a burial mound

  8. There are currently five families still making traditional pottery • A’Aali, Delmon, Bu Jassim, and Jaffer companies all make pottery • Mr. Jaffer has been making pottery since he was 5 years old

  10. The pottery is made of a special soft clay

  11. The clay is placed on a wheel where it is spun by a foot pedal

  12. All of the pottery is hand shaped

  13. Patterns are pressed into the clay using a pencil after it is thrown
