Changing the EDconnect User Password • Security View, right-click on your User ID, select Properties • Type new password in new & verify fields • 7-8 characters in length (case-sensitive) Session 34 -
Changing the SAIG Mailbox Network Password • Security View, right-click Group ID select Properties,Network tab • Select “Network and Local” for Change Type • Enter new password in new & verify fields • From Transmission menu select Now Session 34 -
Security View Setup • Security Group • Use same TGID and password to access SAIG mailbox • User ID • All customers w/in group using EDconnect must have a unique User ID and password for accessing the EDconnect software Session 34 -
Security View - User Setup • Directories tab displays location of EDconnect database • Send &Receive data directories default to C:\iam\data • Data directories should match your EDExpress or other software setup Session 34 -
Connection Setup • EDconnect - internet connection for transmissions • Methods for configuring internet connection • Direct Connection • LAN (Local Area Networks) • Cable modem • DSL modem • ISP - dial-up access Session 34 -
Security: Firewalls • Firewall - barrier between computer & external source (Internet) • hardware or software implemented • May prevent EDconnect from communicating with SAIG • If a firewall is present the technical staff will need to open port 26581 to allow outbound TCP/IP traffic Session 34 -

Basics for TDCM • Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) Military time • Internet Explorer V5.0 displays screens best • Various Netscape versions will not display fully Session 34 -
Login Screen for TDCM • Username: enter TG Number, including “TG” • Password: enter your SAIG Network password • Click Login • Customers access following tabs: • Welcome, Participants, Messages & Archive • All other tabs reserved for CPS/WAN or administration Session 34 -
Participants Tab • On Participants Tab only make changes to “Password” & “Verify Password” fields • Updating other fields may corrupt your school’s setup in OSM & prevent the sending and receiving of data Session 34 -
