  2. Your Intro • Count your sentences. You are going for 8 or more. • What goes in it? Our intro ideas! • Imagine….. • Big Idea (dangerous, luxury, survival, essential, etc.) • An Anecdote – a little emotional story to grab your reader. (how about for the dangerous animal one a little story about how a child got hurt by a dangerous animal/a child got well because of the love of a pet?)

  3. Example Intro StoryRemember to be Emotional! • A lonely teenager sits in his room, doodling on a yellow legal pad, aimless and bored. He stares out the window for what seems like a long, long time. Finally he sighs and heads to the kitchen for a snack. Glancing into the refrigerator, he sees nothing enticing, so closes the door and sits at the table, his head in his hands thinking for the millionth time “where oh where did I leave my Ipod?”. With no music for three days, the boy is sinking, sinking, sinking. Why is this happening? It is only music, after all. Yet, this shows that it is so much more. Music is essential for survival because it gives meaning, purpose and emotion to life.

The wiener schnitzel is the Emperor of Hot Dogs, the Father of Franks, and the CEO of Sausages. Because of its uniqueness and dependability, every human alive should eat a wiener schnitzel each day on this planet. Go now. Go to the local grocery store and stock up on this delightful treat. If the store does not have wiener schnitzel, stage a protest and make enough noise that this neglectful establishment crams the shelves with the sensational schnitzel. • Again, do not use the word YOU.
