How to Do it Better Part III—Tips for Successful Internet Searching • Review the help page before you start searching for information on truncation, proximity searching and Boolean logic • Use phrases when possible • Add keywords to narrow search results • Place the most important or most unique search terms in a query first • Take advantage of advanced search features like “field” or “segment” searching
Tips for Successful Internet Searching • Always use more than one search engine to locate information on the Internet • If you link to a URL, remove the trailing parts of the URL to get to higher levels of organization. There may be other useful information on other parts of the site • Use “find” (CRTL F) to locate keywords within Internet documents • If you’re looking for something and you don’t find it in ten minutes, stop! • THE END!!!!
