We found confirming evidence. • Helal has been a grape trellis contractor and expressed strong interest to collaborate in any development initiatives and to invest their resources in demonstrations and not expecting payment. • Helal is aggressively pursuing agricultural development on numerous fronts and should be included in practical development discussions. • Taking Action • Helal promised to design grape trellis demonstration plot comparing concrete v. steel trellis posts and demonstrating drip irrigation. • Discussed linking Helal with a raisin company to demonstrate 2nd generation (Afghan) trellis technology in a promising grape production area. 26- MAR-13
