Using the LOG. Viewing LOG files Click on LOG tab in project navigator or click on LOG Default Shows activity in chronological order (date/time) Comes up in reverse chrono order (most recent first) You can Name your sessions (by audit or routine test)

Using the LOG • Viewing LOG files • Click on LOG tab in project navigator or click on LOG • Default Shows activity in chronological order (date/time) • Comes up in reverse chrono order (most recent first) • You can Name your sessions (by audit or routine test) • You can open a set of commands “by table open” • Logical order of events • You can view by COMMAND • All events “underneath”
LOG Files • Tools > add comment • To add comments to your log files • “All record counts and control totals match at this point.” • “Begin new script file from here.” • Export the log file to various other file types • Audit or process documentation • Supports file types: HTML, log, script, wordpad, notepad, text formats
Searching the log file • Right click on project navigator and select FIND • Note the “find” command is defaulted for looking up, or “backwards” over the order of activity
Re-executing commands from the log file • Right click on COMMAND • Click the box • If the command is an OPEN command for a table • all of the subsequent commands will be selected as well • You may create scripts from this by right clicking and COPY
