She has worked in Saudi Arabia, USA, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico and many Caribbean islands. As Human Resources Manager at St. George’s University for approximately 450 employees, Ms. Mitchell carries the mammoth responsibility for the recruiting of new staff, training of employees, attending to grievances and initiating programs for their personal development. She also develops policies, procedures and standards in the interest of the staff, and by extension, the University. Ms. Mitchell ensures that all employees are compensated adequately and that benefits/claims are submitted under NIS, Pension, Health and Life programs.
Ms. Tricia Martin Executive Secretary Ms. Tricia Martin is the most recent addition to the Office of the Department of Human Resources. Tricia commenced employment with St. George’s University, on the 16th February 2004, as a Secretary within the Pathology/Microbiology Department. On the 10th October 2005, Tricia was promoted to the position of Executive Secretary, within the Human Resources Department. She is responsible for a diverse range of administrative duties within the department. We extend a hearty welcome to Tricia and look forward to an enjoyable and productive working relationship with her.
Leslie–Ann Sylvester – Admin/Recruitment Administrator Mrs. Sylvester joined the St. George’s University family on 1st July 2002, as an Executive Secretary, within the Department of Human Resources. She has been recently promoted to the position of Admin./Recruitment Administrator. Leslie-Ann’s new responsibilities include vetting new applications, conducting the interviewing process and coordinating training of staff. She continues to have a positive impact in the office and enjoys a diverse range of challenging duties. Leslie-Ann has proven to be an excellent team player. We congratulate her and wish her every success in her new role.
Ms. Hannah ForsythGroup Insurance & Benefits Administrator Ms. Forsyth joined the Human Resources Department in 1999 as a Secretary and has been promoted twice since then. She now holds the position of Group Insurance & Benefits Administrator, with her main responsibilities in the Group Medical, Life and Pension Insurance Programmes and the National Insurance Scheme Benefits. Hannah’s duties include maintaining the Human Resources databases in relation to Insurance and Sick Benefits Programmes, processing claims pertaining to the medical insurance and National Insurance Scheme for approximately 450 employees. She also performs administrative duties relating to Insurance programmes, ensuring adherence to Policies and the University standards. Additionally, Hannah assists the Human Resources Manager with Human Resources strategies and policies providing the support to implement them. This contributes to the effective and efficient running of the Department of Human Resources.
