Conclusions • There are many different metrics in use • Differences exist between metrics that are used internally and those that are communicated externally • EHS metrics are linked to the business • The use of lagging indicators far outweighs the use of leading indicators • Applying quantitative targets to metrics is common practice • Generally, metrics processes are sophisticated and mature • Companies continue to search for better metrics • Questions /comments?
