  3. The spider is hardworking and patient. It works continuously on it web. Paraphrase

Connotation in this poem is used to describe this patient and hard working spider. “Ever unreeling them, ever tirelessly speeding them.” Connotation is also used to illustrate the spider and isolation. “A noiseless patient spider,/ I mark’d where on a little promontory it stood isolated”. Connotation

  5. The attitude seems like admiration towards the spider. The narrator speaks positively of the spider and how hard it works. Attitude

  6. The first stanza speaks primarily about the spider and how hard it works. The shifts comes in the second stanza which then begins to speak about “the soul”. Shifts

  7. After reading the poem I know understand that title of the poem is referring to the spiders characteristic of being patient. The original thought I had about this poem is now Title

  8. The theme of this poem seems to be humans and nature coexisting. Nature is represented in the first stanza while humans are portrayed in the second stanza. “Till the gossamer thread you fling catch somewhere, O my soul”. This is where nature and humans come together. Theme
