The Good Samaritan A. Adam went down when he fell B. Overtaken by the thieves-Satan and his cohorts. 1. Stripped man of his raiment (poverty). 2. Wounded man (sickness). 3. Left man half dead (physically alive but spiritually dead). D. Priest (Law) the Levite (sacrifices) came - neither could help or save. E. The Good Samaritan (Jesus) came where man was - Earth. F. The Good Samaritan poured oil ( the Holy Spirit--the new birth) into man's wounds . (The oil brought man back to Adam's original place with God). H. The Good Samaritan poured in the wine (infilling of the Holy Spirit). I. Put him on his beast (the work of the Holy Spirit - the burden bearer). J. Jesus had to leave so He placed us in the Inn (Church) and the Innkeeper is now the one left on Earth to take care of us until He comes. K. Samaritan gave the host 2 pence (2 days pay to last until He returns).
Jesus is the Good Samaritan He came on purpose and did what the Law/Sacrifices could not. He bound up man's wounds and took care of poverty, sickness, and spiritual death. He departed but left us with the Holy Spirit in the Church. He will return (after 2000 years from when He left). The Unseen Helper - The Holy Spirit TheOil - The Holy Spirit in the New Birth. The Wine - The Holy Spirit in the Infilling The Beast - The Holy Spirit carrying us from the road to the Inn (the Church) as we were translated from darkness to light. The Innkeeper - The Holy Spirit, the One left on Earth with us and has charge of distributing what we need.

Practical Application - We Are To Care 1 Corinthians 12:25 That there should be no schism in the body; but that the members should have the same care one for another. Philippians 2:4, 20, 21 4 Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others. 20 For I have no man likeminded, who will naturally care for your state. 21 For all seek their own, not the things which are Jesus Christ's.

Uncaring People Think Someone Else will Help. 6. Uncaring People are Forgetful. 7. Uncaring People Think Problems will Solve Themselves. 8. Uncaring People are Often Judgmental.

Steps in Becoming a Caring Person 1. First, Identify People who need your Care. 2. Second, Reach Out to Others. 3. Third, Communicate Beyond the Superficial Level. 4. Fourth, Empathize with Them. 5. Fifth, Listen without Judging. 6. Sixth, Respond with a Giving or Doing Something.
