  1. INTRODUCTION • Our world is made up of 75% of water but only 2.5% is drinkable • 7.6 billion people depends on the 2.5% available water to satisfy their drinking purpose • So It is our duty to preserve rainwater • and find a means to utilize it for our day to day needs such as drinking purposes, washing, gardening, etc

  2. Rainwater Harvesting • Rainwater harvesting is a method in which the rainwater is collected, conserved, re-distributed and is used for various purposes • Unfortunately, we have never taken any steps to implement it practically • Some of the ro water purifier companies will be able to help you to set up a rainwater harvesting system

  3. Is Rainwater Safe to Drink?? • Rainwater is considered the purest form of water that is naturally available • The water present in various water bodies is evaporated and is condensed to form clouds which lead to rain • The water is evaporated leaving all the impurities behind and is then condensed to clouds

  4. Why Should We Purify Rainwater Before Drinking?? • The pure raindrops that fall come in contact with the poisonous gases and other impurities in the atmosphere • The rain droplets react with Sulphur dioxide and nitrous oxides that are released into the atmosphere • Hence purifying the rainwater will make sure the water is free from dissolved impurities and gases and is safe for drinking

  5. Reverse Osmosis Process • Reverse osmosis process is used for purifying Rain water • In the reverse osmosis process, the liquid of lower concentration is forced to move towards the region of liquid with higher concentration by applying an external pressure

  6. Implementing Reverse Osmosis System to Conserve and Utilize Rainwater • The raindrops that fall are collected using rainwater harvesting technique and can be directed to the RO system in place • The rainwater is then purified and is made free from germs, suspended and dissolved impurities and gases • Using this technique, the rainwater that is wasted can be purified and can be used for drinking purposes To know more click here
