Authority/Responsibility cont’d The MPO planning process shall address the following factors: Safety of the system for motorized and non-motorized users Security of the system for motorized and non-motorized users
Authority/Responsibility cont’d The MPO’s Long Range Transportation Plan shall include existing and proposed transportation facilities including pedestrian walkways and bicycle facilities that should function as an integrated system.
Authority/Responsibility cont’d The MPO shall provide… representatives of users of pedestrian walkways and bicycle transportation facilities with a reasonable opportunity to comment on the transportation plan.
Authority/Responsibility cont’d The TIP shall include trails projects, pedestrian walkways and bicycle facilities proposed for funding under 23 U.S.C. and 49 U.S.C. Chapter 53. The MPO shall annually develop and publish a listing of projects (including investments in pedestrian walkways and bicycle transportation facilities) for which funds were obligated in the preceding program year.
