  3. Agenda Webinar Objectives 2020 So far What’s Important Now Registration System- A Guided Tour Local Council Strategies. Question & Answer Session

  4. 2020 So Far • We are excited that approximately 200 Councils have signed up for 2020. At this point we are hoping councils have made their $100 deposit and have reviewed the 2020 play book to plan your contingency. A copy of the playbook can be found at www.summitbsa.org. If easier I can email the link by contacting me at James.rushton@scouting.org • If you are starting the process today no worries. We are going to walk you thru the first several steps and will answer questions at the end of tonight’s session or you can contact us off line.

What’s Important Now? • Leadership Selection- Who will be the minimum 2 adult leaders going on the trip? • Program Selection- Summit Experience, New River Trek, Polaris ATV Trek or Bikepacking? • Recruiting participants- It’s all about the kids, right? • Registration- More later… • Marketing- Also More later with some examples of how one local council is using their web resources to promote.

  6. Registration Registration- A Guided Tour • Over the next few slides we’ll cover: • Where to Register • What information you’ll need to have in order to register • What information you won’t need to register • Payment options • Why you need to register

Registration Information Required to Register 1) The Contact Person/Contact information- This person and the contact information they enter will be the main point of contact for The Summit for your Contingent. This can be a Council Employee or a volunteer appointed by the Council. 2) Contact Persons Contact Information- They will enter a mailing address, e-mail address and phone number. 3) Program Selection- Summit Experience, River Trek, ATV Trek or Bikepacking 4) Dates- When do you want to do the selected program? 5) Attendance Numbers-How many youth and how many adults?

Registration Information You don’t need to make a reservation • Participant Names • BSA Membership Numbers • Participant Alergies • Special Dietary needs • Male/Female Breakdown This is information we’ll need eventually but not now. Later in the process you’ll fill out a roster with this information. Now we are focused on the program and total number of people coming.

  9. Registration Where Do We Register?- Step 1) www.summitbsa.org Step 2) Click on the orange “High Adventure Box” at the center of the page.

  10. Registration Step 3) At the High Adventure Page Select the Council Contingent Button on the Right hand Side of the screen.

  11. Registration Step 4) Council Contingent Page. Click on the 2020 Council Contingent Registration Button on the Left side of the screen. Also this page has lots of good information for councils like dates, a link to the 20/20 Playbook, past webinars and Marketing Materials.

  12. Registration Step 5) Registration Landing Page. No data to enter here just a review of programs, requirements and costs. Once you have reviewed the information scroll to the bottom of the page and click “Continue”

  13. Registration Step 6) Enter Contact Person and Contact information. For unit Type and Unit Number select “Council.”

  14. Registration Step 7) On the same Page. It will ask you to affirm all participants are BSA members and then to select a curriculum (program). If you select SE it will ask you to indicate dates. If you are doing a trek it will take you to a new page to select dates.

  15. Registration Step 7B) If you selected treks it will take you to the date options for that trek.

  16. Registration Step 8) Enter the number of youth and adults.

  17. Registration Step 9) Review Your Reservation information.

  18. Registration Step 10) When you arrive at the payment screen, stop. Email or call Cristi Richardson, the SBR Registrar with council name and name of individual making the reservation. cristi.richardson@scouting.org; 304-465-2800 Cristi will complete your reservation and credit $100 to your balance. You will receive a confirmation email.
