  1. We’re Ecotricity, Britain’s greenest energy company. We’re on a mission to create a green Britain. We supply nearly 200,000 businesses and homes around Britain with 100% green electricity made from the wind and the sun, and green gas that comes with a frack-free guarantee. It all started in the 90s. Our founder, Dale Vince, was living in a van on a hill outside of Stroud, using a small windmill for his power. It occurred to him that if he could power his own life with energy generated from the wind, it could be done on a larger scale. That’s when Ecotricity was born….

  2. Our journey…

  3. The world’s first green electricity company We don’t just supply green energy, we make it too… Over the last 20 years we’ve build 74 windmills spanning 24 wind parks up and down the country. Green electricity didn't exist in the world back in 1996. When we offered it for the first time, we became not just Britain’s but the world’s first green electricity company – we kick-started the now global green electricity movement. Our mission was and remains to change the way electricity is made and used in Britain.

  5. Our green energy We use our customers’ energy bills to fund the building of new sources of green energy, turning ‘Bills into mills’ – energy bills into wind, sun and gas mills. As a not-for-dividend organisation, our profits go back into our mission. With no shareholders to answer to, we’re free to dedicate ourselves to the task of building new sources of green energy and investing in projects that create green outcomes. Our electricity is 100% renewable – we make around a fifth of it ourselves – the rest we source from green generators. We’re the only energy company to be certified by The Vegan Society and Viva! for supplying and generating our own vegan electricity and gas – free from animal by-products. All energy companies are required to include green energy in their fuel mix. But there is a big difference between energy companies, and some are not as green as they seem…

  6. Gas We’re developing green gas mills that will generate green gas from grass, as an alternative to fossil fuels. The gas we supply now is 12% green and carbon neutral. Like our electricity, our gas is registered with The Vegan Society and Viva!

  7. 100% renewable energy for your business • In house trading department giving you access to live wholesale energy prices providing market intelligence on the optimum time to trade and make energy purchases for both electricity and gas contracts. • We can fix your pricing in contract for up to 36 months or choose a flexible tariff with 28 days notice • 100% fully fixed prices for budget certainty • Collective billing – all of your sites can be billed together in one simple invoice • Flexible payment terms – 14/21/28 days BACS or DD

  8. Energy monitoring & management Getting more information about the energy you use is another great way to reduce your carbon footprint and cut your energy bills. In partnership with Stark we’re able to offer a cloud-based energy monitoring and analytics platform, which puts you in total control of your business energy usage. You’ll get to see patterns in your energy usage, across multiple sites, so that you can target areas for reduction and develop better consumption habits to cut your emissions and costs.

  9. Merchant Wind & Solar energy generation Make carbon and cost savings on your electricity bills with a dedicated source of green renewable electricity, on-site or off-site. Not only can you can become energy independent and fix your long term costs for greater certainty – but you’re helping to increase the share of renewable energy in the grid. We’ve been building windmills and sun parks on industrial and commercial sites for almost a decade, powering household names like Sainsbury’s and Ford. We’ll support you every step of the way, assessing your sites and providing recommendations on the sources of green energy you can take advantage of.

  10. What are the options? Vs.

  11. How we work with you

  12. Ecotricity powers household names “Ecotricity has helped us to meet our environmental goals and energy needs. We have this fantastic state-of-the-art wind turbine on our site, which not only looks great but is providing almost half the depot’s electricity, with no carbon emissions and at a cheaper price” – Julius Brinkworth, Sainsbury’s, East Kilbride, Scotland. “The installation of wind turbines will see the Dundee site join Ecotricity as a pioneer in the ongoing promotion of alternative, cleaner energy sources for heavy industry” – Trevor Haines, Michelin. “Green power from Ecotricity is saving Ford money and there are huge environmental benefits too. Thousands of tonnes of power station emissions are saved by switching our electricity source for the Dagenham Diesel Centre to wind power” - Roger Putnam, Ford Dagenham, London.

  13. Why choose a PPA? • - Protects and isolates from wholesale market fluctuations • - Generate a stable and secure energy supply for your businesses future Power Purchase Agreements What types of PPA’s are available? Variable You get paid the live market rates for your energy. This means you can take advantage of price spikes in the market, getting the best price available – but you’re also subject to price drops. Fixed A fixed price set at competitive rates for the energy you generate over a time period that works for you, where you have existing assets. If we provide the generation this will be fixed for between 20 – 30 years with an optional break clause by agreement.

  14. Power Purchase Agreements • Behind the meter • PPA • Sleeved • PPA • An agreement with us to purchase the energy you generate (either from a new or existing asset with capacity over 250kw). • Any energy you require for your operations is supplied directly from the asset, with any excess exported back to the grid to supply our customers. • Agreements usually run for 20 – 30 years but with an optional break clause at 10 years. • An agreement with us to take energy generated from a dedicated energy asset powering your business. • Agreements usually run for 20 – 30 years but with an optional break clause at 10.

  15. Britwind Small windmills can make a big difference to small and large businesses, farms and rural properties, schools, sporting clubs and more. Britwind is part of Ecotricity, who have been building big wind parks for nearly 20 years – bringing their expertise in wind energy to the small wind sector. Owning a small windmill is all about having energy independence – it’s about making the energy you need where you need it. For that, you need the right windmill for your location. That’s easy though – and we do everything to make sure you can choose the best windmill for you. That includes a thorough desk-top assessment by Britwind experts. We’ll assess your local wind resource, your energy demand and more – so we know exactly what you need to become energy independent. What can we offer you? • Sales – Our H15 and R9000 models are renowned world-wide • Servicing - Our UK-wide team looks after a fleet of nearly 1,000 wind turbines with a total installed capacity of over 100MW • Maintenance & Repair – reactive or scheduled servicing packages • Monitoring softwear – review and respond to alarms and faults

  16. Virtual Power Plant The Virtual Power Plant (VPP) uses frequency response and market balancing to take advantage of peaks and troughs in energy generation and demand. The National grid is required to balance supply and demand in real time as energy cant be stored effectively or be created at the time of need. The Ecotricity trading team are able to take advantage of the high’s and low’s of energy prices and also better manage our position within each half hourly settlement period. Through Demand Side Response (DSR), we are able to reduce your demand during the peaks and troughs, helping to minimise the costs and challenges associated with TRIAD and DUOS, creating a more sustainable, smarter grid. All you need is flexibility in your demand and a Half Hourly metered supply – we’ll complete an audit to assess your suitability if you’re interested! Not enough generation Too much generation Too much demand Not enough demand

  18. Partnerships Building a green Britain isn’t something we can do alone. That’s why we partner with companies and organisations who share our values. From powering their operations, to running awareness campaigns about the issues we care about – we’re in it together! Building a green Britain isn’t something we can do alone.
