Pinball Tubulator Mach III By: Alec Whinery Robert Patterson Evan Chaudhuri Joseph Kenneth Brewer Jack Goble
Introduction • Our project’s goal was to make a rollercoaster. • Our parts were mostly found around the house. • We purchased 50 ft. of vinyl tubing that cost roughly 20 dollars. • We also used Airsoft pellets for the ball the cost of which was around 6 dollars.
What it does • Uses a ruberband to launch the projectile • Completes one loop • Goes through a series of sprials • Ends in a maze
Energy Subsystems • Launcher • Elastic Potential Energy to Kinetic Energy • Loops • Centripetalacceleration • Spiral • Gravitational Potential Energy to Kinetic Energy • Maze • Collisions
Conclusions • The building of the project took 5 hours of work by all five team members. This time was used to design, build, yell at, and break “Pinball Tubulator Mach III.” • We encountered some problems including: • Making physics work (Thank you Einstein and Newton) • Making a standard slope • Having the ball get stuck halfway • Thank you and lets finish up now!!!We want to go on break!!
