  1. New Year – New Direction • What is your new year plan/direction? • Are you going to give up some bad habits or to develop new good ones or to change your life style? • Eph. 5:15-17 Be very careful, then, how you live - not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. 3. Use Time Wisely • verse 15b “not as unwise but as wise” • Prov. 1:7 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and discipline. • Prov. 2:6 For the LORD gives wisdom, and from his mouth come knowledge and understanding. • Prov. 1:29-31 Since they hated knowledge and did not choose to fear the LORD, since they would not accept my advice and…my rebuke, they will eat the fruit of their ways and be filled with the fruit of their schemes. • Psalm 90:12 Teach us to number our days aright, that we may gain a heart of wisdom

  4. Prioritise Time/Opportunity • verse 16 “Making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil.” • Prov. 4:23 Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life. • Who/what is most important in my life?

  8. Conclusion & Response • Luke 10:38-42 As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him. She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord's feet listening to what he said. But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, "Lord, don't you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!” "Martha, Martha," the Lord answered, "you are worried and upset about many things, but only one thing is needed. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.“ • Are you like Martha or Mary? • We need to be like Mary……
