Plantation Information • Greenwood plantation is located in West Feliciana Parish, Louisiana and was originally built in 1830 by William Barrow. • The plantation operated as a 300 acre cotton plantation until 1850 when it switched to sugarcane. • August 1, 1960 lightning struck the plantation and destroyed the home. • Eight years later Walter Barnes purchased the plantation and began to restore it. • Greenwood Plantation is currently the home of Walter’s son Richard and his family.
