  2. What is BSOLE? Basic Skills on line for Europe • A web-based e-learning environment for basic and lower skills learners • Resources for assessing and learning basic skills • Aims to promote the delivery of basic skills and improve capacity of tutors • Proven effective in the UK

  3. Objectives of BSOLE • Assess market feasibility for localisation in Austria/Germany and Italy • proposes a European strategy for the publication of multilingual web-based educational materials for learners with basic and lower skills

  4. Focus on Italy, Austria and Germany Areas of interest for BSOLE: • Who delivers basic skills? • Identification of potential groups • Educational standards • Linguistic variations • Translation and pedagogical issues • Government policies

  5. Expected Results • the market deployment phase will include authorable web-based tools which can be customised and adapted by teachers and learners in any European language • an elearning environment that is compliant to international standards (SCORM,IMS,etc)
