  2. What happens during a hurricane • Sometimes debris flies around. • Things could blow away. • Sometimes your house could get destroyed. • Severe thunderstorms and tornadoes sometimes happen during a hurricane. • All electricity could go out.

Hurricane safety tips • Make sure you have a flashlight with you. • Have a disaster plan ready for your family and your pet.(if you have a pet) • Board up windows and bring in stuff from outside that could blow away. • Make sure you know what country or parish you live in and know where all evacuation routes are. • Make sure you have food water and a first aid kit.
