ELLIS is an interactive software Each level combines: • Digital audio and video • Written scripts • Vocabulary • Grammar • Pronunciation • Traditions • Speed adjustment • Voice recording • Role playing • Help manual • Build in tutorial in original languages for levels one and two; in English only for higher levels. Listed below descriptions of the software are based upon descriptions from ELLIS web page: www.ellis.com
Built in tutorial for each level will help you to use ELLIS • Every level of Ellis has built-in lesson by lesson tutorial that will help you to use the software. • Students of Basic and Intro levels can listen to the tutorial in their native languages. For the students of Middle and Senior levels tutorial is available only in English. • Built-in tutorial looks exactly like ELLIS. But do not try to write your ID and password – the tutorial is not interactive. It is only illustrated guide!
ELLIS is easy to use • After the orientation come to use ELLIS any time the computer lab is open. • Write your learner ID and password. Your Learner ID is the same as password and usually consists of your first name and last 4 digits of your telephone number. • Start Learning English! Learner ID don1234 Password *******
Ferguson Library ELLIS lab is open for ESL students • Main LibraryThird Floor Computer Lab Mondays, Tuesdays & Wednesdays - 11:00a.m. - 8:00p.m. Thursdays- Closed Friday - 11:00a.m. - 6:00p.m. Saturday - Closed Sunday - 1:00p.m. - 5:00p.m. Technical assistance will not be provided during these hours. For more information contact Yelena Klompus or Tom LaSalle To use this service you are required to take an orientation session. Orientations are given twice a month on Saturday at 10 am in the 3rd floor computer lab in the Main branch.
