Being Active • You should be active a MINIMUM of 15 minutes a day • You can go for walks, go on bike rides, skateboard, play soccer, hockey, dance, etc.

Benefits of Being Active • Being ACTIVE is FUN! • Being ACTIVE is GOOD exercise for your heart and lungs • You meet NEW friends and get to hang out with your FRIENDS.
Good Nutrition • Remember to eat from all FOUR food groups • Remember you can eat ALL types of food, but to eat in moderation • Make SMART food Choices
Good Food Choices • Choose MOST OFTEN • Choose SOMETIMES • Choose LEAST OFTEN
FOODS to Choose MOST OFTEN • These are the BEST types of foods. • They are the MOST healthy and give you all the RIGHT types of nutrients
FOODS to Choose SOMETIMES • These are foods YOU CAN still eat. • But you should only choose them SOMETIMES
FOODS to Choose LEAST OFTEN • Junk Food should be chosen LEAST often • You can have it ONCE in awhile, NOT all the time.
Portion Sizes • Keep your meals REASONABLE size. • YOUR plate should NOT be heaping full. • Make sure you are eating ENOUGH • Eat until your are FULL, not stuffed. • It is BETTER to eat many small meals, rather than a couple of large ones.
Positive Social Environment • EVERYONE likes to hear a positive comment. • WE need to try and be more positive with eachother. • Help fill up our “BUCKETS!” • Make them overflow with POSITIVES!
Healthy Schools Initiative • Practice LIVING HEALTHY • Look for ways to make your SCHOOL a healthier place • Go out and get ACTIVE • Make good FOOD choices • Help others fill up their BUCKET
