Matthew 7 • 24 Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock. 26 And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. 27 And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell, and great was the fall of it.

  5. I. the two builders both know the need, the circumstances, and the benefits of building a House

  6. Just like the two builders, we are also building something, our life. • We must be moved to build a life of faith to withstand all the trials in life.

  7. ii. The stronger house is built tediously

  9. iii.The two houses were tried with the same test

  10. No matter where we build our Christian life upon, we cannot escape the fact the God will allow trials in our life that will show us the quality of faith we have had.

  11. Roman 10:17 • So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.

  12. On christ the solid rock i stand • My hope is built on nothing less. Than Jesus' blood and righteousness; I dare not trust the sweetest frame, But wholly lean on Jesus' name. On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand; All other ground is sinking sand.

  13. On christ the solid rock i stand • When darkness veils His lovely face, I rest on His unchanging grace; In every high and stormy gale My anchor holds within the veil. • On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand; All other ground is sinking sand.

  14. On christ the solid rock i stand • His oath, His covenant, and blood, Support me in the whelming flood; When every earthly prop gives way, He then is all my Hope and Stay. On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand; All other ground is sinking sand.

  15. On christ the solid rock i stand • When He shall come with trumpet sound, Oh, may I then in Him be found, Clothed in His righteousness alone, Faultless to stand before the throne! On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand; All other ground is sinking sand.
