What is A.D.D • A.D.D stands for attention deficit disorder. • Confusion and controversy is caused by the tendency of mental health, people who study A.D.D think people with ADD have a strange irreversible brain defect. • Most are defined as immature, uncooperative, self-centered and bossy • Aggressive behaviors, reading difficulties and other academic problems are also common in this disease.
Good or Bad? • Many people believe that kids/people with A.D.D are strange and have horrible lives. That’s not true, many people with A.D.D have a good self esteem and are sometimes better off than “normal” people.
Are A.D.D and A.D.H.D the Same? • No A.D.D is different from A.D.H.D, you can be considered A.D.H.D if you have a low attention span, even if you are hyper active.
How is A.D.D caused? Created? Formed? • A.D.D is believed to be carried throughout the family. • If you have A.D.D you are most likely to be born with it and it is stuck with you forever.
Counseling • Kids with A.D.D usually talk to a counselor 2 to 3 times a day for special help. They do this because many of these kids feel they have no one to talk to so the go to counciling.
symptoms • Trouble paying attention • Times of increased attention • Interrupting others when speaking • waiting for their turn • Being distracted easily • Difficulty planning or following instructions • Fidgeting or constantly moving • Trouble wtih organization
How do they stay active? • People with A.D.D are able to join the special Olympics. • They have more than one special Olympics because they have local special Olympics.
Help • Many kids with A.D.D need special attention. That is why they are usually put in a class special education. It gives them 1 on 1 time with the teacher. Sometimes the teacher will read to them or help them take their test or even just help them calm down.
