Objective of WP Monitor implementation of Enwise recommendations at national level • establish contacts with national bodies • this will also contribute to raising general gender awareness in the scientific community and disseminate knowledge about the project • identify key issues to be monitored based on the Enwise report and recommendations • prepare national reports and a summary report on the findings of the monitoring
All the partners involved in WP8 • establish contacts with relevant bodies at national level (month 6-12) • write a report on that (by mid. Jan 2005) • identify key issues relevant for national level monitoring (month 6-12) • write a report on that (by mid. Jan 2005) WP8 meeting Jan/Feb 2005 to discuss the reports on contacts and key issues to monitor and enable finalizing them by March 2005
All the partners involved in WP8 Establish mechanisms for national level monitoring and execute them (month 9-30) • write national report about the situation (in national language and English) • report (by September 2005), discussion at MB meeting September 2005 • final version of the report in national language taking into account regional findings (by September 2006) • contribute to the regional summary • meeting to discuss the structure/points March 2006 • written contribution to regional report (by Sep. 2006) • regional comparative summary report (by Dec. 2006) • help in organizing workshops for promoting the monitoring findings and science in general
Possible issues to monitor I • assess political support – list actions,... • data analysis of • EU project proposals and contracts, bodies/panels – if data from EC • researchers (profile and publications, payment) – if data at national level • availability/level of • training on gender issues and gender dimension • training in writing project proposals • national info. dissemination of FP6 • training of journalists about gender stereotypes • gender mainstreaming in education • scientific evaluation policy (publications, management, support activities,...)
Possible issues to monitor II • family-friendliness of science, eg., • child care facilities provided at international events • support for working from home • reintegration after maternity leave • image of science • support for young scientist – funding, international experience and reintegration • asses situation in some organizations regarding gender structure at different positions – if data at national level • asses national level of networking among women scientists and gender experts
Workshops In general: raising awareness about the Enwise report and its findings • workshop at national level to: • raise awareness about the Enwise report • discuss particular national key issues • workshop at international level later in the project to exchange experience • workshops to help promoting science in general • other ideas on the focus/location for workshops welcome....
