  2. Dilations … www.googleimages.com (bat symbol search)

  3. What is a Dilation http://www.learnalberta.ca/content/mejhm/html/object_interactives/dilatations/use_it.html This site is a little more in depth and is a small extension to our program. The process of Dilation creates similar shapes using an original shape. For example … When you look at a flashlight , you see a small round light; however, if you shine it on a wall, you see a larger round light. This is the process of dilations.

  4. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Eye_dilate.gif You will notice in this image that the pupil is getting bigger and smaller. This is a form of dilation. The image does not move around but it does lead to other shapes within the original eye.

  5. TRANSLATIONS … http://www.regentsprep.org/Regents/math/geometry/GT2/PracTran.htm VERTICAL: HORIZONTAL UP and OVER UNITS

  6. Which of the following lettered figures are translations of theshape of the purple arrow?

  7. H: - 3, -6 Notice a pattern here???? You only need to find one set of co ordinates since the entire shape moves in the exact same direction without flipping.

  8. ROTATIONS http://www.mathwarehouse.com/transformations/rotations-in-math.php

  9. Reflections www.google.com/images - reflections search You should notice that in a reflection, the space between the original object and its reflection are always equal. Notice the line of reflection in this picture of Alaska. The tops of the trees and mountains are equal distances in the reflection to the line as the original picture to the line.
