Project Plan • Phase 1- Project Planning & Technology Fit BlackBoard/WebCT UMass Boston’s LMS was used to create classrooms for students and tutors. • Wimba Voice Tools • All of Wimba’s voice tools were investigated for this project, but only 3 made the cut. • Voice Board • Voice Email • Wimba Podcaster
Technologies Wimba Live Classroom Wimba’s Live classroom was used for students and tutors to hold synchronous sessions. Xserv Blogs & Wikis Through the grant a Mac Xserv was purchased to host a variety of collaboration tools including Blogs and Wikis.
Project Plan • Phase 2- Content Development & Web Portal Web Portal A website portal was created to give easy access to all of the tools and resources used in the project. Tutorials A series of screen cast tutorials was developed for the students and tutors in the use of all of our technologies.

Learning Value Added • Enable students work one on one with another person to learn how to reflect on their work in a social situation. • Get students actively involved in thinking about their own writing • Provide students access to study materials during synchronous sessions • Provide students and tutors with records of synchronous Spanish and Nursing tutoring sessions for review • Expand hours of tutoring availability
