Highlights (Q1/2009) • SX unit amplifier faults • Identified the situation leading to faults • Developed basic workaround • Installed remote power switch • Ability to monitor amplifier remotely • DX unit repair and installation • DX unit repaired • Installation scheduled (Q2) LBT Q1 2009 Engineering Review

Open Issues • Technical • Mirror safety devices pending • Apparent amplifier firmware problems • UMAC must be turned on many seconds (~30) before servo units • Failure to do this puts the amplifier in a state that will lead to a fault when enabled • This does NOT seem to be remotely resettable • Revisions to amplifier firmware may correct LBT Q1 2009 Engineering Review
