Using Dashboard Technology to Improve Collaboration and Make Data Driven DecisionsDevin Bradberry, MATrack/Session 4.5
Agenda • Background • Strategic Planning/Mapping Geographic Data • Affordable Care Act Campaign • Financial Monitoring • Service Delivery Monitoring • Project Management • Individualized Dashboard • Social Media Campaign Monitoring
Background • In December 2011 the Houston Department of Health and Human Services leadership decided to create a dashboard to allow executive leadership to track the performance of the department. • Over time the dashboard expanded to cover performance for each program area as well as financial information for the department as a whole. • Access to the dashboard has been expanded from senior leadership to program management staff as part of a drive to push the department into a quality improvement mindset. • Additional sections were created to facilitate collaboration with community partners, who in turn gained access to the relevant sections of the dashboard. • The dashboard software is cloud-based, so the majority of this session will use the live dashboard.
