Career Technical Education (CTE) • Overview: This program is a sequenced program of study that integrates academic and career technical education curriculum, including workplace competencies, to engage students in contextual learning so that they are able to complete a career major sequence that prepares them for postsecondary study and employment.
OACE-CTE programs • The Career Technical Education (CTE) uses a systems approach to help students make the transition from school to post secondary education, careers and lifelong learning. CTE is the coordination and organization of a sequence of programs and learning activities so that students improve academic performance and are equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary for economic success in the real world.
CTE Teaching Staff Contract Teachers: 5 Hourly Teachers: 16 Average Class Length: 10 weeks @ 5 days/week @ 3 hours/day

OUSD Board Support • In December 2008, the OUSD Board approved a 5 year CTE Perkins Plan. • In April 2009, the OUSD Board approved the ConnectEd consulting services contract for the design and implementation of Multiple Pathways Model.
