BACKGROUND • My name is HaeJeung, but it is really pronounced like Hey Jung. My dad still has not figured out why he spelled my name like that on my passport. My birthday is in November 23rd. I was born in South Korea in 1994, so I am currently 17. Even though I really wanted to register to vote, I could not because my legal status is only permanent resident. Fortunately, I am thinking of applying for citizenship before my sophomore year after I turn to 18.
Academic • I am a freshmen in honors program, thinking of majoring in math and economics. I chose this major because I loved my math class and business class during my high school year. I could not choose which one is more fun than the other, so I could not help but to decide on double majoring in both subject. Four years from now, I want to see myself working at Wall Street or World Bank. I like to analyze information and predict outcome based on that information, but I do not like statistic.
Work experience • I do not believe in Ponzi scheme because I believe that achievement can only come from some risk and effort. My belief is proven by Ponzi when economy did not get better because of his effort to not risk IRCs. Therefore, I did not want to waste my summer doing nothing to get closer to my goal. So, I risk my time on working part time job to get some experience in business field. I worked at AMC and TJMAXX. Through that experience, I was able to truly understand how companies operate.
