Intro • Dominican Republic has been considered a great surf destination for the last 20 years, being the north coast an exceptional destiny for the medium to medium-high experienced surfers. • Many spots hold consistent surf. Many contest nationally and internationally has been held on DR beaches. DR riders also has taken our flag to international events and many “off the loop” have ridden major Big Wave spots in the world.

Recent History • Many ingredients are mixing together, either sports maturity, athletes maturity, media exposure, other country direct exposure to our athletes, sponsors, and the list can go on and on... • The true fact is that, there is always someone to push the limits and by doing so the horizons always will expand. • For the past 20 years the big wave riding experienced has been limited to H season and out of the country surf.

Recent History • However, in late 2010 a couple of swells were able to be captured and showed to the DR surf community how much we do still have to explore in this great country. • Big swells hit our east and north coast, exposing power beaches such as Fread is Dead, Naguas Reef and Tankline to a hole new dimension ever experienced in the DR.
