(2 Tim 1:12 NKJV) For this reason I also suffer these things; nevertheless I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able to keep what I have committed to Him until that Day. (Rom 1:16 NKJV) For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.

(2 Tim 1:16 NKJV) The Lord grant mercy to the household of Onesiphorus, for he often refreshed me, and was not ashamed of my chain; • Who had been ashamed of Paul? (2 Tim 1:15 NKJV) This you know, that all those in Asia have turned away from me, among whom are Phygellus and Hermogenes. (2 Tim 4:16 NKJV) At my first defense no one stood with me, but all forsook me. May it not be charged against them.

  17. How strictly should one interpret the teaching of Paul? • How can a person follow a “pattern” of sound words? What to Remember From Chapter 1 • Family can be good sources for potential converts. • We should use all “gifts” and opportunities we are given. • Those teaching and following God’s true revelation should never be ashamed of it or the circumstances they are in because of it. • In Divine revelation we have doctrine that is to be followed as a pattern.
