  3. Elements of a good story theme . The story should be spun around a time span . The setting for the story should defined . The characters for the story need to be determined and descried - they need to be brought to life . The dialogues have to be interwoven . The short story should have a plot . The vocabulary should be easy to follow . The story should be edited and proofread!

  5. Description using 5 Senses See - red, smokey, dim, pitch Touch - hard, cold, wet, rough Smell - putrid, musky, rank Sound - crunch, snap, drip Taste - bitter, sweet, sour

  6. Suspense To create suspense, you must hint at a certain outcome. The reader then follows the story expecting to see this outcome or hoping that it does not happen. Hinting at something bizarre, unconventional, or downright frightening is in fact a great way of creating suspense.

  7. Suspense She looked at him straight in the eye with a sinister expression across her face. In a cold, flat tone that sent all the hairs on his body standing on end, she said,“Franco, you are going to die.”Upon hearing this, Franco staggered backwards, aghast. His eyes bulged out and his face lost all of its color.
