  2. Copy the example datasets • Go to W:\ADePT Gender • Copy Nepal and Malawi files into C:\Temp or C:\adept • Remember where you saved the data!

  3. Getting Ready for ADePT • Know your data • Helps you interpret your output • Prepare your data for ADePT • ADePT already does a lot of data checking for you • Very minimal (recoding and labeling variables)

  4. Data Checklist • Check survey design • Check structure of data • Check all required variables (for ADePT Gender) exist and are correctly defined • Check that variables exist for the correct subgroups • If using more than 1 survey at a time (different countries or years), check that: • Variable names are the same for all data sets • Variable definitions are the same (otherwise you cannot compare them)
