  2. Our town • Located in the North of Spain. • Population: 12,000 • Maineconomicactivities: Industry and farming.

  3. Our history • Itwasfounded in 1890. • Itsmainaimwastoteachthefutureapprentices of a big local foundry.

  4. Our school • State-aided school. • One of the 3 Primary schools in town. • One of the 3 Secondary and Vocational schools in town. • High percentage of inmigrants (6.25%). • Multicultural school. 16 nationalities, 58 foreign students.

  5. today • These are ourstudents: • 131 at Nurseryschool • 300 at Primaryschool • 150 at Secondaryschool • 300 at Vocationalschool

  6. There are: • 6 nursery groups. • 12 primary groups • 8 secondary groups. • 10 vocational (technical) groups. • 850 pupils. • 645 teachers.

  7. The school has: • 2 buildings. • 5 computer rooms. • Library. • 2 Staff room. • 2 Multi-use hall. • 2 playgrounds. • Other small rooms. • Speech therapy room.

The school timetable • Classes for Nursery and Primary school: • from 9:30 to 12:30 and from 15.00 to 17.00 • Classes for Secondary and Vocational students: • from 08.30 to 14.30 • Breaktime from 11.15 to 11.45. • Extracurricular classes: • Sports: Judo, Football, Handball, • IT, handicraft, • English lessons, English for parents, • Roller skating, • theatre, … • from 17:00 to 18:00.

Main projects Programme of Bilingual Education in ESO. • Comenius project in ESO. • Studying both a Bilingual and a Comenius projects in Primary school. • Programme for SEN students (Special Education Needs). • Technical studies for dropouts. • Programme at Secondary school to minimize the number of dropouts.

  15. Our main aim We intend to create an atmosphere where solidarity be a reality, especially among those who are in need because of their social status, their difficulties to fit into the school/society, their behaviour or their knowledge.
