IPTV GSI plan The table below shows the discussion plan considered by Rapporteurs. Proposed deadline for contributions is 23 April. The deadline is applicable to all contributions for IPTV-GSI and NGN-GSI.
Proposals • We should remember that IPTV or NGN GSI is only an opportunity to discuss Questions. We should follow Question procedure. • In spring, a certain Question has IPTV-GSI and NGN-GSI periods. Still, the meeting for the Question is a single stream, which is administrated by a single agenda and single report. Contributions have a single deadline. In fact, some Questions are planned to start in the IPTV-GSI period and end in the NGN-GSI period. • The previous slide summarized the plan for some Questions during the IPTV-GSI period, showing roughly when the FG IPTV-originated drafts will be discussed. • In the subsequent NGN-GSI period, some Questions, in particular Q.2 and Q.3, are scheduled to examine drafts that were originally produced by FG-IPTV. Thus it is recommended that we, NGN experts, participate in the sessions during the NGN-GSI period, if our interests are related to NGN. • To assist in getting a contribution discussed during the NGN-GSI period, the contribution should stress NGN aspects. This does not preclude the author from including proposals that may affect non-NGN or general aspects. We expect Rapporteurs to manage non-NGN matters. • Participants should indicate their intentions in the contribution, for example, that “Proposals in this contribution are targeted mainly at NGN matters, though they may affect non-NGN or general aspects. I am willing to discuss this contribution during the NGN-GSI period. I would also appreciate a preliminary review during the IPTV-GSI period, although I may not be able to join in.”
Summary • Since most CJK participants will not go to the GSI meetings for four weeks, the question is when to attend. • I recommend we, NGN experts, should attend the NGN-GSI period, even though some Questions extend over both IPTV- and NGN-GSI periods.
