Mrs. Moreira • I have taught at BPA since our opening in 2008. • I graduated from Florida State University with a B.A. in Spanish. • I taught Spanish at FSU and elementary schools in Tallahassee, FL

Supplies Needed for this class • a 1 ½ “ 3 ring binder with clear plastic sleeves and pockets • 5 tab dividers for the binder • 3 ring pencil pouch • Composition notebook • Notebook paper • Pencils, pens, highlighters

Period 6 1:09-1:56 (Beginning Spanish class) All buses will leave campus promptly at 2:00 pm
Syllabus • Parents: Please look for a syllabus to come home the first week of school. • Contains important information regarding rules, policies, and grading. • Please sign and return the signature portion by Friday, August 24th . • The syllabus will STAY in the class binder all year.
Curriculum Information • What does ASPIRE stand for? Academic Success through Prevention, Intervention, Remediation, and Enrichment Plan • How is a student placed in this program? The ASPIRE program will serve the needs of students who have shown a pattern of scoring a Level I or Level 2 on FCAT Reading and Math, or an equivalent assessment from the previous school year (Discovery Education Assessments). • Students receive 110 minutes of Intensive Language Arts/Reading instruction daily.
Beginning Spanish • Students will need a PLASTIC three prong folder with pockets. • Students should bring paper, pencils, pens, and highlighters to class each day. • Students will be taught using the Communicative Language Approach– after the first week of class the majority of instruction will be in Spanish. • Parents: Please look for a syllabus to come home the first week of school.
