  2. Why are we going? • Outdoor and adventurous activities • Spend the night away from home/school • Practice for Wales Week in Y6

  3. Where is White Hough?

  4. White Hough is Lancashire’s Outdoor Education Centre.

  5. You need to bring... • Sleeping bag/small pillow • Roll mat • Warm top/fleece • Suitable outdoor coat ie: waterproof and warm • Outdoor footwear ie: walking boots/wellies • Old trainers • Socks/underwear • Small towel • Toiletries...soap, facecloth and toothbrush/paste • Torch • Warm Pyjamas • Two t-shirts/trousers • Rucksack (big enough to get everything in!) • Water bottle

  6. You might want to bring... • Sun-cream (to be applied by child under supervision of staff in warm weather) • Hat and gloves (if it’s cold) • Reading material/travel games • Two/three healthy snacks eg: cereal bars, fruit

  7. Please don’t bring... • Aerosols • Jeans • Radios • Mobile phones • Money • Cameras

  8. Wednesday 15th September • 8:50am – Arrive at school in own clothes with rucksack and packed lunch. • 11:30 am – 12:00 Travel to White Hough by coach. • 12:00 – 1:00pm Arrive in Barley. Eat packed lunch at picnic site by river. • 1:00 - 4:00pm Walk from Barley to Black Moss Reservoir to White Hough (approx 4.5 miles). • 4:00 pm – 5:00pm Arrive at White Hough and set up tents. • 5:00 – 6:00pm Tea/briefing for evening. • 6:00 – 8:30pm Evening activities on field. • 8:30 – 9:00pm Washed and ready for bed. • 9:00 – 9:30pm In tents. Lights out.

Thursday 16th September • 7:30 - 8:30am Dressed and ready for breakfast • 8:30 – 9:15am Pack away tents/prepare for activities. • 9:30 – 12:30pm Morning activities...climbing, problem solving and orienteering • 12:30 – 1:00pm Dinner • 1:00 – 4:00pm Afternoon activities (as above) • 4:00 – 4:30pm Walk by river back into Barley and board coach. • 4:30 – 5:00pm Travel back to school.

  11. Form 3B/Payment • Behaviour Contract • Medical/dietary information • Emergency contact details • £36 for two days – great value! • 30 places only. • First come, first served...Form 3B and full payment.
