  1. ROC/KCC Collaboration ROC and KCC have been working together for nearly 10 years on various projects, dependent on funding. We seem to have found our groove and now have a small grant from the Ford foundation to: • Sure up our collaboration. • Bring college pathways for restaurant workers to the other ROC cities, starting with Detroit and one other city. Maybe Miami, Houston, Philly, DC, LA, NO, Chicago?

  2. Part I: Firming Up the Collaboration • Articulation of CHOW 101 and 102 to KCC TAH/CA. • Colors and High Road Employer Internships • KCC Classes @ Colors taught by CHOW faculty • CHOW Faculty at KCC • Recruitment both ways • Career ladder draft

Part II: Replicating Project Nationally • Establishment of CHOW/College Agreements in each ROC city. • Nationally validated curriculum (employer and educator review). • Refinement/adoption of career ladder • Internship program at High Road Employers nationally • Tech assistance for high road employers (research) • Big goal—pilot offering entire credit certificate program at Colors in NY

  4. Why Do This? What’s in it for KCC? • Connect our current students to high road employers, ROC’s benefits (health care) and ongoing advocacy and support (life after KCC) • Recruiting ROC members to improve (not really increase) enrollment at KCC • Real estate! • Improve the industry we love
