About Activation • Imaging 4.2 and KLS: • KnowledgeLake Imaging for SharePoint 4.2 requires activation to function correctly. • KnowledgeLake License Server (KLS) is required to support your Imaging for SharePoint activations. • KnowledgeLake License Server may be installed on any server in your local environment that is capable of communicating online with https://kls.knowledgelake.com at least once initially to obtain license information. • This server may be the same machine that houses your SQL, Imaging, and/or Capture Server, or it may be its own separate server. The specific setup of your environment is entirely dependent on your organization’s business needs.

KLS Installation • About Imaging 4.2 and KnowledgeLake License Server: • KnowledgeLake Imaging for SharePoint 4.2 requires activation to function correctly. • KnowledgeLake License Server (KLS) is required to support your Imaging for SharePoint activations. • KnowledgeLake License Server may be installed on any server in your local environment that is capable of communicating online with https://kls.knowledgelake.com at least once initially to obtain license information. • This server may be the same machine that houses your SQL, Imaging, and/or Capture Server, or it may be its own separate server. KLS On-Premise Installation Requirements • Supported Host Systems (all x86/x64) • Microsoft Windows Vista Professional with SP2 and IIS 7 • Microsoft Windows 7 Professional with SP1 and IIS 7 • Microsoft Windows Server 2003 with SP2 and IIS 6 • Microsoft Windows Server 2008 with SP2 and IIS 7 • Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 with SP1 and IIS 7 • Please note that while any of the above systems are supported, one of the server systems would be recommended

KLS On-Premise Installation Requirements • Minimum Host System Requirements • 2 GB RAM • 1 GB free disk space • Additional Server System Requirements • Full .NET Framework 4.0 Extended Profile must be installed • HTTP Redirect and HTTP Errors must be enabled • Server machine must have internet access during times when KnowledgeLake License Server is open, and your local install of KnowledgeLake License Server must be able to communicate out through port 8080 to kls.knowledgelake.com • It is not necessary that this server machine have internet access at other times during normal operations

KLS On-Premise Installation Requirements • Supported SQL Instances • Microsoft SQL Server 2005 with SP4 (x86/x64) • Microsoft SQL Server 2008 with SP2 (x86/x64) • Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 with SP1 (x86/x64) • Microsoft SQL Express 2008 R2 with SP1 (x86/x64) • Minimum SQL System Requirements • 2 GB RAM • 1 GB free disk space

  11. Overview of KLS Installation • You will need an active internet connection during the installation process. Once installation is complete, the machine may be disconnected from the internet if desired. • KnowledgeLake License Server may be installed on any machine in your network that meets the stated requirements, but it is recommended that you install it on a server separate from your SharePoint server or your Capture Server server, if applicable.

Overview of KLS Installation • KnowledgeLake License Server installation includes these main tasks: • Check that all permissions and requirements have been met. • Log in to the KnowledgeLake License Server website to obtain the installation files and your License Server Key • Run KLSInstall.exe on a server that meets the stated requirements, is connected to your SQL server, and is connected to the internet. (It need only be connected to the internet during installation) • Open the local KnowledgeLake License Server in your browser at: http://(servername):(port#) • Register the on-premise license server by entering your unique License Server Key • Update your product license information

  13. KLS Installation • KnowledgeLake License Server (KLS) is required to support your Imaging for SharePoint activations.

  14. KLS Installation • To begin the installation of KnowledgeLake License Server, run KLSInstall.exe. • Click Install KnowledgeLake License Server on the splash screen that follows.

  15. KLS Installation • Click Next on the welcome screen, and then Next after you accept the license agreement.

  16. KLS Installation • After verifying Success status for the prerequisites check, click Next.

  17. KLS Installation • Enter the specifications for your installation as prompted. • The only change from default settings in the screenshot at right is the name of the SQL Server machine.

  18. KLS Installation • Depending on your environment, you may or may not see a command prompt window while the components of KLS are deployed. • Click Next when the status of all items indicates success.

KLS Installation • When the installation is complete you may either click Finished or click the link that opens the License Management application. • If you select Finished, you will still need to open the License Management application in your browser window to register your license server, as will be shown in the following slides.

  20. KLS Installation Obtain License Keys • Before using KnowledgeLake License Server, you must register the on-premise license server with KnowledgeLake by entering your license key. • This key is obtained by logging in to https://kls.knowledgelake.com with your unique username and password.

  21. KLS InstallationObtain License Keys • After logging in to the License Server website, expand the line item for KnowledgeLake Imaging in the Product column to retrieve the keys for License Server and Imaging.

KLS InstallationRegister On-Premise License Server • Ensure that the server where KLS is installed has internet access. • In a browser window, open the local KnowledgeLake License Server application, usually at http://localhost:5050. • Logon with the same unique username and password you used at https://kls.knowledgelake.com. • Enter your unique License Server key and click Register.

  23. KLS InstallationRegister On-Premise License Server • If your registration is successful, you will see a message in the browser window.

  24. KLS InstallationUpdate On-Premise License Server • After the registration is successful, click the Update Licenses button • You will receive a success message about the update

KLS Installation • If you wish, you may logout of the on-premise license server before you install Imaging 4.2. • You are not required to be actively logged on to the on-premise license server to activate Imaging 4.2. • Complete information about KLS is available in the KnowledgeLake License Server 1.0 Administrator Guide.

System Requirements • Supported Server Systems • Microsoft SharePoint Server (“SharePoint 2010”) • Microsoft SharePoint Foundation (“SharePoint 2010”) with Search Service Express installed • Microsoft Windows Server 2008 64-bit Standard, Enterprise, Data Center, or Web Server with Service Pack 2 (SP2) • Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 64-bit Standard, Enterprise, Data Center, or Web Server • Microsoft SQL Server 2008 x64 with Service Pack 1 (SP1) and Cumulative Update 2 • Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2

System Requirements • Server Hardware Requirements • 64-bit, four cores • 8 gigabyte (GB) RAM • 80 gigabyte (GB) hard disk space • For more details refer to the Microsoft TechNet Library page on Hardware and software requirements (SharePoint Server 2010). • Client Workstation Requirements • Silverlight-enabled web browser

Account Permissions Requirements • The account used to perform the Imaging installation must be a SharePoint Farm Administrator who is also a member of the local Administrators group. • Adhere to Microsoft guidelines for account permissions with these exceptions (refer to Microsoft | TechNet): • “Account permissions and security settings (SharePoint Server 2010)” • http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc678863.aspx • “Administrative and service accounts required for initial deployment (SharePoint 2010)” • http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee662513.aspx

Installation Notes • Product Upgrade from 3.x to 4.2 • An upgrade utility is coming soon for those moving from Imaging 3.x to 4.x. • Installing Imaging 4.x does not upgrade Imaging 3.x automatically. Contact KnowledgeLake to obtain the upgrade utility. • Product Upgrade from 4.0 to 4.2 • The installer will handle in-place upgrades of 4.0 to 4.2 • For more information on Imaging 4.2 requirements, see the Imaging for SharePoint 4.2 Release Notes

  31. Installation Notes • The KnowledgeLake Search Center will not function in a site collection that was created from a SharePoint publishing template. • KnowledgeLake products require activation to function correctly. • Contact KnowledgeLake Support if you do not have a valid activation key.

Pre-Installation Settings • Enable Logging • Central Administration Monitoring (on sidebar) Review Job Definitions • Click Diagnostic Data Provider:Event Log • Set an appropriate recurring schedule  Click Enable • Click Diagnostic Data Provider:Trace Log • Set an appropriate recurring schedule  Click Enable After Imaging is installed, the KnowledgeLake Log Viewer is available for use. The Log Viewer is a Silverlight application that provides an easy method for administrators to view the Unified Logging Service (ULS) SharePoint log files and the KnowledgeLake log files. Before using the KnowledgeLake Log Viewer you must first enable The Diagnostic Data Provider: Event Log and the Diagnostic Data Provider: Trace Log.

Pre-Installation Settings • Set Search Administrators • Central Administration  Manage Service Applications highlight the Search Service Application (do not click it, just highlight it) • Click Administrators(on the ribbon)  Add the SharePoint Application Pool Identity Account and give it full control • Click Permissions(on the ribbon)  Add the SharePoint Application Pool Identity Account and give it full control

Pre-Installation Settings • Set Automatically Generate Managed Properties • Central Administration  Manage service applications  Search Service Application  Metadata Properties (on sidebar)  Categories (top right) SharePoint drop down for Edit Category • Check the box for “Automatically generate a new managed property…”  OK

Pre-Installation Settings • SharePoint Columns and Content Types • Put data in all columns of all content types • Full Crawl and Schedules • Central Administration  Manage Service Applications  Search Service Application  Content Sources (on sidebar) Local SharePoint sites drop down for Edit Under Crawl Schedules, Edit schedule  Create appropriate schedules • Perform an Index reset if the upcoming full crawl is not the first one. • Run a full crawl

  36. About SharePoint Search Settings • Automatically Generate Managed Properties • The next time a crawl is run, a managed property will be created for each newly crawled property. If a crawled property already exists that does not have a managed property, you will need to manually create a managed property. • In order for a managed property to be created for a new crawled property, data must exist in the SharePoint column. Therefore, before running a crawl it is recommended you save documents to SharePoint and populate all the SharePoint columns with metadata.

  39. Installation: Imaging 4.2 • To begin the installation of Imaging 4.2, run KLImaging_Setup.exe • Click Install Imagingon the splash screen that follows.

  40. Installation: Imaging 4.2 • Click Next on the welcome screen, and then Next after you accept the license agreement.

  41. Installation: Imaging 4.2 • After verifying Success status for the prerequisites check, click Next.

  42. Installation: Imaging 4.2 • After verifying Success status for registering solutions in Central Administration, click Next.

  43. Installation: Imaging 4.2 • Click the button for Open Central Administration, or click the Finished button and open Central Administration in your browser.

  44. Installation: Imaging 4.2 • From Central Administration  System Settings, click Manage Farm Solutions.

  45. Installation: Imaging 4.2 • Click knowledgelake imaging.wsp. • Click Deploy Solution on the next screen.

  46. Installation: Imaging 4.2 • Select which web application you wish to deploy to, then click OK. • The most common selection is All content Web applications.

  47. Installation: Imaging 4.2 • You will be returned to the Solution Management page, where you can see that the solution has been deployed.

  48. Installation: Imaging 4.2 • From Central Administration  System Settings, click Manage Farm Features.

  49. Installation: Imaging 4.2 • Activate the four KnowledgeLake farm features, starting with KnowledgeLake Imaging Infrastructure.

  50. Installation: Imaging 4.2 • From Central Administration  Monitoring, click Review Job Definitions.
