Documentation Changes • With the Unity 5.0 release, there are some important changes to the organization of the Unity documentation. • Documentation changes are in the following areas: • System administration • Phone system integrations • End user documentation
System Administration • System Administration Guide for Cisco Unity Release 5.x— • Reorganized to make it easier to find information related to setting up new features and functionality. • Includes new chapters that focus on conversation-related settings, voice-recognition features, call-management functionality, broadcast messaging, message notifications, and phone applications. • Interface Reference Guide for the Cisco Unity Administrator Release 5.0 • New guide to the Cisco Unity Administrator application. • Material arranged according to the GUI pages in the application, with chapters for each main area of the interface, and sections for each page. Full definitions, including default values and minimum and maximum values (where applicable), are provided for all fields in the interface.
Phone System Integrations • Information on phone system integrations has been consolidated into single documents for each of the following integration types: • PIMG • Cisco Unity Communications Manager SCCP • Cisco Unity Communications Manager SIP • Remaining integrations are in separate guides, but will be consolidated in a future release
User Guide Content • User Guide for Cisco Unity divided into four guides so administrators can easily choose content relevant to users based on features/functionality enabled for them: • User Guide for the Cisco Unity Phone Interface • User Guide for the Cisco Unity Assistant Web Tool • User Guide for the Cisco Unity Inbox Web Tool • User Guide for Accessing Cisco Unity Voice Messages in an E-Mail Client(covers ViewMail for Outlook, DUC for Cisco, IMAP client access to voice messages) • Availability of TUI customization and premapped conversations has made providing key presses in procedures mostly meaningless. So, keys have been removed from procedures in User Guide for the Cisco Unity Phone Interface. Instead, steps tell users to "choose the option <prompt>." Some examples: • Step 2 From the Main menu, choose the option Send Message. • Step 2 From the Main menu, choose the options Setup Options > Personal Settings > Change Password. • Administrators can use Wallet Card wizard to produce cards that show key presses for customized TUIs or for premapped conversations. Content in System Administration Guide will highlight availability of wizard and how to use it.
